Declarations from James
Chapter 1: I declare that when troubles come my way, I consider it an opportunity for great joy. I know that when my faith is tested, my endurance has a chance to grow.
I declare that when I need wisdom, I just ask God, and He freely gives it to me. But when I ask, I make sure my faith is in God alone. My loyalty is in God alone.
I declare that God blesses me as I patiently endure testing and temptation. I know that God never tempts me do wrong, that comes from the enemy or from my own desires. I do not give into these temptations because they lead to sin and death.
I declare that all things good come from God. I am His prized possession. I am quick to listen and slow to speak, I am slow to get angry. God has planted His word in my soul and I humbly accept it.
I declare that I not only listen to God’s word, but I do what it says. God will bless me with freedom as I obey His word. I take control over what comes out of my mouth.
I declare that I walk in pure and genuine religion. I care for orphans and widows who are in need. I also refuse to let the world corrupt me.
Chapter 2: I declare that I do not favor rich people over poor. I do not show favoritism at all, it a sin, and not a part of my life. As I show mercy to others, God shows mercy to me.
I declare that my faith is alive because my good works accompany it.
Chapter 3: I declare that only blessings come out of my mouth. I live an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.
I declare that I walk in God’s wisdom. It is pure, peace loving, gentle, yielded to others, full of mercy and good deeds. I plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.
Chapter 4: I declare that I do not quarrel with other believers. I am satisfied with what God has given me. When my motives are pure and I desire more, I bring my requests before God.
I declare that as I humble myself before God, He lifts me up in honor. I resist the devil, and he flees from me. As I come close to God, He comes close to me. I have a pure heart. My loyalty is to God alone.
I declare that I live a life free from criticism and judgment, God alone judges.
I declare that I am yielded to the plans that God has for me. When I know the right thing to do, I do it.
Chapter 5: I declare that during hardships, I pray. During happy times, I sing praises. When I am sick, I call on the elders of the church to anoint me with oil and pray over me. I know that these prayers offered in faith will bring healing.
I declare that I confess my sins with my brothers and sisters in Christ. We pray for each other, knowing that it brings healing. My earnest prayers have great power and produce wonderful results.
